History & Heritage

At the heart of Steenberg Estate in Constantia lies the Manor House – more than a landmark, it is the soul of our estate. Built nearly 350 years ago, it was once home to our pioneering founder, Catharina Ras, and has long stood as a symbol of resilience, heritage, and reinvention.

The Restoration

This winter, the Manor House has been lovingly restored. While its original Cape Dutch features have been carefully preserved, bespoke new details now introduce a sense of timeless design and understated luxury. Gentle textures, soft tones, and warm light transform the space into one that feels both authentic and reimagined.

Experiencing the Manor House Today

The Manor House is more than a historic treasure – it is a place of connection and reflection. Designed to host intimate gatherings, quiet retreats, or moments of pause, it offers guests a sensory-rich experience where the spirit of Steenberg comes to life in every detail.

Looking Ahead

We look forward to opening the doors to this new chapter soon – and to welcoming you into the Manor House in ways both memorable and inspiring. From gatherings that create new stories to moments that honour the past, this reimagined space is ready for its next journey.
