Are you a detail-oriented and organized professional passionate about payroll and people administration? Steenberg Estate is seeking a dynamic Payroll and People Administrator to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our payroll processes and people management systems.
Key Responsibilities
As our Payroll and People Administrator, you will:
- Manage and process payroll using Sage 300 People, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Administer employee records, including contracts, leave, benefits, and terminations.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management and statutory submissions (e.g., PAYE, UIF, SDL).
- Handle employee queries related to payroll, leave, and benefits with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Support HR functions, including onboarding, maintaining personnel records, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure accurate employee data and payroll inputs.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement changes accordingly.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll administration, preferably with Sage 300 People.
- Knowledge of South African payroll regulations, including tax, UIF, and other statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general HRIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of HR processes and practices is advantageous.
