Job Description:

As a Pastry Chef at Bistro Sixteen82, you will be responsible for creating and executing a variety of exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Your passion for the art of pastry making and commitment to quality will ensure that our guests enjoy the finest sweet creations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, prepare, and present a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
• Develop new and innovative recipes in line with current trends and guest preferences.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation in all pastry items.
• Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients, ensuring freshness and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor junior pastry staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to create cohesive and complementary menu offerings.
• Participate in menu planning and seasonal updates.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts.
• Exceptional pastry and baking skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong creativity and ability to develop innovative and appealing desserts.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
